Robin at the sunset

DPP07DA0208161B42 – Robin at the sunset (Erithacus rubecula) – (Canon EOS 7D, Canon 400mm f/5.6 L, 1/8000 s, f/5.6, ISO800, tripod)
This robin at the sunset seemed to wish nice weather for the next day but…here comes the rain again!!! Let’s hope that sunday will be better, ’cause I have the ‘pelagic trip’. However, the weather forecast says ‘cold’, ‘low temperatures’, and ‘maybe snow’. In the meantime, I’ve been searching for a different interpretation of the robins attending my garden. Do you believe it? Ok. this is the real story. I was waiting for a great tit (Parus major) but he arrived instead, the usual robin with his own territorial instinct of controlling the situation. The light was very hard and the exposimeter worked fine with the evaluating metering. Either unfortunately or fortunately, I do not know, the background was very very luminous. I shot very underexposed, but so underexposed that this became a nice silhouette. At the end of the day, this was my best shot. A few shots of the tit were misfocused, but I am quite satisfied of this shot, which is maybe the most original I did.
